To the Editor:

I want to begin by thanking Don Bull of the Village of Amelia, for his letter. I do believe no one wants a socialist or communist to take over this country. The truth is if people don’t wake up, what happened in Cuba and Venezuela will happen here in the United States. History can teach us not to make the same mistakes others made. Venezuela was the wealthiest nation in South America and among the top richest country globally when Chavez took office in 1998 with his socialist ideas. Never would I have thought, that a country that had a constitution and form of government very similar to the U.S. could become one of the poorest nations in South America in less than 10 years. Venezuela as a country is very rich in petroleum, natural stones, gold and other natural resources. Yet, because of the socialist policies, Venezuela hit rock bottom.

I totally agree with Don Bull, if Democrats don’t wake up, they are going to be responsible for the downfall of this country. The radical left has taken over the Democratic Party. I challenge all democrats to admit they stand by what their party stands for. Men in women’s sports, open borders, anti-capitalism, they hate the flag, pro-choice, abolish the police, and of course hate Trump. Even if Trump is doing what they have wanted to do, it’s wrong because he is the one doing it. Studying history is the way to help your country. Know what you really stand for and what someone tells you to believe. The Democratic party should really take a hard look at themselves and see if they like what they really stand for now.

Finally, for those that are for open borders, saying that this country is made of immigrants. This country has ALWAYS been against immigrants. Study our history and you’ll see. Immigrants would come to this country and were placed in Ellis Island (a sort of jail) until they could be processed. Even after being allowed into the country, they were treated like outsiders and not welcomed. The Irish were treated with severe discrimination, subhuman, intense prejudice. Same for the Catholics. Same for the Chinese. Google search any immigrate group coming to America and you’ll see that immigration into the US has always been very hard.
