A woman reported that Rodgers had taken her medical marijuana and left the house. She had stored the marijuana inside a ziplock bag and not in a medical container, the report said.

Upon arrival, the officer found Rodgers sitting inside his white two-door Chevy truck outside the residence. He handed over the marijuana and admitted his medical marijuana license had expired. A subsequent check of his criminal history determined he had a prior guilty conviction related to marijuana, the report said.

Rodgers was arrested on charge of possession of marijuana. He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $500 bond.
