A 51-year-old Boynton Beach woman was killed in a head-on collision Friday afternoon on County Road 42 in Summerfield.
The fatal crash occurred at 1:45 p.m. on County Road 42, just east of U.S. Hwy. 441 near The Villages.
According to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol, a 46-year-old Ocklawaha man was driving a pickup truck westbound on County Road 42 when, for unknown reasons, his vehicle veered into the eastbound lane. The front of his pickup collided directly with an eastbound sport utility vehicle driven by the Boynton Beach woman.
The woman, who had been wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the pickup truck, who was not wearing a seatbelt, suffered minor injuries in the crash.
The identities of the drivers were not released, and the FHP homicide investigation is ongoing.
