Fans of President Trump will stage a golf cart parade in The Villages in honor of his 80th birthday.
The Republican Assembly of Sumter County is organizing the event which will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 14 from three locations – Ezell Recreation Center, Fenney Recreation Center and Lake Sumter Landing. Residents are encouraged to join in the rally with decorated golf carts.
There had been some hope of setting a Guinness World Record with Sunday’s event, but that has proven to be a complicated assignment. The Villages has had experience with that cumbersome process in years past.
Enthusiasm for President Trump remains high in Florida’s Friendliest Hometown, further fueled by his visit on May 1 to The Villages High School at Middleton. Thousands lined up for hours at the high school, hoping to get into the event.
