The unemployed search and apply for places familiar first or places they want to work at. In this event, they expose their personal information. Larger companies take your information to a computer system headquarters in a different state. I believe, some are non-existing positions, only to understand where the employment cycle is. Smaller local companies, accept applications anytime. Every time an application is sent over the internet, who looks at it? For what reason?
Every company has the same response. “That position was just filled, we will hold your application until needed.” I can only respond with a genuine “Thank you.” Thank you for not selling my personal information is what I was thinking. Seriously what happens to these application?
In my opinion, it’s best for a company to hire someone who wants to work at a particular company. You may fine a better worker out of them.
