To the Editor:
Joe Biden and Attorney General Merrick Garland made a horrible mistake by not having Trump tried for treason. I am sure he felt that after the actions of Jan. 6, 2021, Trump was finished. I, on the other hand, have been watching this filthy swine for 30 years get out of every jam he was ever in.
When the Speaker of the House went to visit him in February 2021, my fears intensified. Just so you remember, he said to go in peace; then later in his speech he said, “Go down to the Capitol and fight like hell, or you won’t have a country anymore.” Then, when he called off his band of traitors—including two busloads from The Villages MAGA Club—he said he “loved them” and to “go home.”
My contention has been since 2 p.m. on Jan. 6, 2021, that his acts made him a traitor. I believe for sure if he had gone to court, he would have been found guilty of treason. But Merrick Garland and Joe Biden missed the boat. Now we, as a democracy, are paying the price every damn day.
When he leaves office, I want him tried for treason immediately. We are very late. His guilt of treason means anyone who gave him aid and support after the act will be qualified traitors, too. If you voted for him in 2024, you gave him aid and comfort. Are you listening, MAGA?
