To the Editor:

I want you to imagine this: Traveling down the Turnpike at 70 mph, approaching a vehicle traveling at 10 mph and another at 35 mph. Common sense says this is a recipe for disaster and will more than likely result in a crash. Now picture a golf cart traveling at 20 mph, a walker at 3 mph, and a bicycle traveling at 10 mph on a strip of asphalt only 10 to 12 feet wide. Now, to make it even more absurd, they are traveling in opposite directions. That is the exact same comparison percentage-wise.

They call this multi-modal, but I call it insanity. Now we have new methods of transportation like e-bikes and electric scooters, with no limitations as to what comes next. We now have riding drones and hovercraft that are being developed that will be available soon. Personally, I can’t wait to be able to fly over and around everyone on these so-called multi-modal paths.

If these don’t go back to golf-cart-only paths, people are going to die or get seriously hurt.
