A 36-year-old Mexican national was arrested for driving without a license after being involved in an early morning traffic crash in Webster.
Deputies from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene of a crash at about 5:43 a.m. Thursday in the area of State Road 50 and County Road 469.

Upon arrival, a deputy made contact with the driver of one of the vehicles, identified as Natalio Torres-Camancho of Bushnell, who had two adult female passengers in his car. When asked to provide his driver’s license, Torres-Camancho handed the deputy a Mexico identification card.
A witness at the scene provided a sworn written statement confirming that Torres-Camancho was behind the wheel and operating the motor vehicle at the time of the crash. A subsequent records check through the FCIC/NCIC databases revealed that he does not possess driving privileges in any U.S. state.
A criminal history inquiry also revealed that Torres-Camancho has a previous conviction for operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license in Sumter County stemming from an incident in January 2017.
Torres-Camancho was issued a uniform traffic citation and arrested on a misdemeanor charge of operating a motor vehicle without a valid license (second conviction). He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center, where he is being held without bond. He will be turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
