Dennis Lee Marx, affectionately known to many as “Sarge” and “Mick,” passed away on June 7, 2026, at the age of 80. He was born on November 8, 1945.
Dennis proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1965 to 1969, including service in Vietnam. His military service reflected the strength, dedication, and commitment that defined his character throughout his life. Known to many by his nickname, “Sarge,” he carried that name with the same quiet strength, loyalty, and steady presence that those close to him knew so well.
Following his military service, Dennis worked as a sheet metal worker, often referred to as a “tin knocker,” until his retirement. He took great pride in his work and in providing for his family.
Dennis enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, boating, cooking, and spending time outdoors. He also enjoyed watching old Western movies and the History Channel. Whether he was casting a line, spending time on the water, preparing a meal, or relaxing with a favorite show, Dennis found joy in the familiar things that made life meaningful.
Those who knew Dennis will remember his strong work ethic, his love of family, his willingness to help others, and his appreciation for life’s simple moments. He leaves behind many cherished memories that will be held close by those who knew and loved him.
Dennis is survived by his beloved wife, Berty Marx; his brothers and siblings, Ralph Marx (Val), James Tatta (Angela), and Cindy Mazzone (Phil); as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Bernice Tatta.
Dennis’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
