To the Editor:
I was disappointed with the negative headline about Wyndham Clark’s U.S. Open victory in Monday’s edition of The Villages Daily Sun. He persevered after the ups and downs of a U.S. Open. He hit golf shots that I didn’t think were possible. He was the only player to eagle the 16th hole in the tournament. The shot he hit out of the rough on the 16th hole on Sunday was Herculean, and it led to a birdie. The approach putt on the 18th hole proved he has nerves of steel. This performance was done with a very negative crowd rooting against him. The Associated Press was still rooting against him on Monday.
