A Plant City woman was arrested late Monday night after a deputy caught her driving with a revoked license and pulled her over in a hotel parking lot in Wildwood.

Jessica Leigh Featherston, 40, was behind the wheel of a white 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan at about 10:20 p.m. Monday, when she was pulled over at the Holiday Inn Express located at 928 E. State Road 44.

According to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy was on routine patrol near the intersection of State Road 44 and County Road 229 when a law enforcement database alerted him to the passing vehicle. The system indicated the SUV’s registered owner was driving without a valid license.

The deputy followed the vehicle and used a database photo to positively identify Featherston as the driver. He initiated a traffic stop, and Featherston pulled into the hotel parking lot. She handed the deputy her Florida driver’s license, registration, and insurance, but a subsequent check through the Driver and Vehicle Information Database (DAVID) confirmed that her license had been revoked.

Featherston was issued a traffic citation and arrested on a misdemeanor charge of operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license. She was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $500 bond.
