A Mexican national is facing deportation after he was caught driving without a license in The Villages.
Pablo Cruzrosales, 40, of Ocala, was behind the wheel of a white Ford F-150 at about 8:45 a.m. Tuesday when a Sumter County sheriff’s deputy spotted the pickup truck traveling east through the intersection of State Road 44 and Buena Vista Boulevard. A query of the vehicle’s license plate revealed that the registered owner did not possess a valid Florida driver’s license or identification card.

The deputy initiated a traffic stop on State Road 44 near County Road 155. When informed of the reason for the stop, Cruzrosales handed the deputy a Mexican taxi driver’s license that had expired in October 2024, according to the arrest report.
Cruzrosales admitted to the deputy that he had never possessed a driver’s license anywhere in the United States.
He was issued a uniform traffic citation and arrested on a misdemeanor charge of operating a motor vehicle without a valid license. Cruzrosales was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center where he was being held for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
