Two hundred and fifty years ago a group of men in Philadelphia decided they no longer wanted to be subjects of the King and instead became citizens. They took ownership of the government away from the King and claimed it for the people.

Today, we’re in a race to see which group of Americans can bankrupt the government that we own. On the one side we have the Social Democrats who want the government to pay for everything. On the other side we have the MAGA supporters who refuse to pay for the cost of government and pass tax cuts even though there are massive deficits and accumulated debt of $117,000 per citizen.

In 1998 Tom Brokaw wrote a book referring to the World War II veterans as “The Greatest Generation.” Nobody will ever use such accolades to describe us. Certainly not our kids and grand kids, who are going to have to pay for all of this.
