Nancy C. Ditsler, passed away at The Retreat Assisted Living Facility in Decatur, GA, on July 10, 2026.

She was 88 years old. Nancy was born in Vincennes, IN on Feb 25, 1938 to Louis and Josephine Hunckler. She attended St. Rose Academy and graduated in 1956. She married Loren L. Ditsler on August 19th, 1961 and briefly lived in Terre Haute, IN, after which she moved to Evansville, IN. She had two children, Pamela Sue and Mark.

In 1972, Nancy received her nursing degree and Indiana state nursing license as a Practical Nurse. She worked at Welborn Hospital for 6 years, then transferred to St. Mary’s Hospital for 17 years. She then worked for the American Red Cross for 3 years before returning to St. Mary’s Hospital for another 4 years. Nancy worked the remaining of her career at private doctor’s offices and retired in 2002.

In October 2002, Nancy & her husband moved to The Villages, FL and lived in the Village of Glenbrook. In 2016, she and her husband moved into Buffalo Crossings Assisted Living Facility, also in The Villages. After her husband passed away, she moved to The Retreat in Decatur, GA to be closer to her family.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Pamela Sue Truitt, and her husband, Loren L. Ditsler. She is survived by her son, Mark Ditsler. She had three grandchildren, Kristin Truitt, Matthew Truitt, and Kelly Truitt Davis. She was the youngest of 13 siblings and had many nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are being handled by her son. In lieu of flowers, she asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in her name.
