A 34-year-old woman is being held without bond after she allegedly punched a man in the face during an argument at the Wildwood RV Village.
Haley Dawn McCurry was taken into custody Friday morning by deputies from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. She was booked into the Sumter County Detention Center on a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery.

Deputies responded at approximately 9:30 a.m. to a residence at the RV park on State Road 44 in Wildwood in reference to a physical disturbance. Prior to their arrival, the victim contacted dispatch to report that McCurry had allegedly punched him.
According to the arrest report, the victim told deputies the two had gotten into a verbal argument before McCurry allegedly struck him on the left side of his face with a closed fist. She also allegedly threw an object—noted in the report as a ring—at him.
The arresting deputy observed red marks and discoloration on the left side of the victim’s face, noting that the bruising darkened during the investigation, indicating a fresh injury. The deputy also observed a ring on the kitchen counter inside the camper.
After being read her Miranda rights, McCurry reportedly told deputies she did not hit the victim.
A criminal history check revealed McCurry has no prior convictions for battery. Because the incident was domestic in nature, she was booked without bond.
