A Wildwood man was arrested on a warrant this week after allegedly selling methamphetamine to law enforcement for months.
Cordell Brown, 39, was apprehended at a location on Duck Lake Road, next to Rolling Acres Road, at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. The warrant authorizing his arrest detailed five incidents of trafficking in methamphetamine and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.
The warrant detailed the transactions, starting with the first on Dec. 5, 2025. An agent with the Unified Drug Enforcement Strike Team assisted a task force officer and other special agents in Gainesville with the operation. A confidential source was used to buy one pound of suspected crystal methamphetamine from Brown.
The source began by reaching out to Brown, who told him to meet at Brown’s workplace on Duck Lake Road off Rolling Acres Road in Lady Lake during his lunch break. He instructed the source to park next to a black sedan and get inside. Brown’s supplier pulled up in a white Ford pickup truck soon after to exchange the methamphetamine for $2,000, the warrant said.
The second transaction took place on Feb. 11. Brown told the source that his supplier would deliver the methamphetamine to Brown’s workplace. He counted the source’s payment of $2,000 as the supplier arrived in a newer-model white Ford Expedition rental vehicle. Brown retrieved the narcotics, weighing 446.9 grams, and brought them back to the source to end the exchange, the warrant said.
During the third transaction on April 8, Brown told the source that the supplier was already at his workplace. Surveillance units already on scene observed a gray 2026 Chevrolet SUV rental vehicle backed into the parking lot. The source then arrived, exchanging $2,000 for 442.7 grams of methamphetamine with Brown, the warrant said.
For the fourth transaction on June 3, the source was to buy 3 lbs of methamphetamine for $6,000. The source arrived at Brown’s workplace and waited 15 minutes for the supplier after Brown counted the money. Brown went back inside to his job until the supplier showed up, the warrant said.
At that point, a silver 2025 Jeep Wagoneer rental vehicle pulled into the parking lot. The source got out to meet the supplier before Brown came back outside, but he walked out and yelled at the source to get back in the vehicle. Brown then greeted the supplier, grabbed the methamphetamine and brought it to the source, the warrant said.
The final transaction on June 23 was to exchange another 3 lbs of methamphetamine for $6,000. Prior to speaking with the source, agents located the rental Jeep on Southwest 50th Avenue in Ocala. They conducted surveillance on the vehicle as the source confirmed the transaction with Brown, the warrant said.
The supplier traveled directly to Southeast 25th Terrace and did not leave until the source spoke with Brown at his workplace. The supplier later drove to Brown’s workplace, where the source exchanged the money for methamphetamine, the warrant said.
Brown was ultimately booked at the Lake County Jail. Bond was set at $125,000.
