
Clara Louise Harrison Tarter was born on August 4, 1941, in Wildwood, Florida, and joined Mema & Gramps in heaven on July 9, 2026.
When Clara was born, her mother, father, and older brother had recently moved into their new home on Main Street in Sunset Park in South Wildwood. She was welcomed into the First Baptist Church of Wildwood, where she attended during her youth. Clara graduated from Wildwood High School. She was a bright child who excelled in her studies throughout her school years. Clara was a popular girl who served as a cheerleader and band majorette.
After graduation, she worked for attorneys in legal practices in Ocala and Wildwood. Her passion was professionalism, and she excelled at her job. Over the years, she found her career calling and became a highly respected Ocala realtor.
Clara loved people, and people loved Clara. Folks in the Ocala business community knew and respected her. Her niece, Susie, lovingly remembers Clara as always smiling, laughing, and caring. She made the best sugar cookies ever!
Clara is survived by her two sons, Jack Chappell (Kristin), Michael Chappell (Kim) and her stepson Doug Chappell. She is also survived by her husband, William Tarter, her stepson William Tarter Jr., her grandsons Justin Chappell, Brandon Chappell (Alyssa), and Liam Tarter. Also, her great grandchildren Emma and Noah Chappell. Her brother, William B. Harrison, Jr. (Nancy), also survives her, as well as her niece Susie, nephew Billy, her great nieces and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her first husband G.B. Chappell and stepson Barry Chappell.
Clara will be interred with her parents at Pine Level Cemetery in Oxford, Florida. The date and time will be announced at a later date.
