A Wildwood man was arrested for battery after allegedly shoving his girlfriend to the ground in his apartment.
An officer responded to a disturbance involving 20-year-old Carnell Lamar Coleman at the Wildwood Preserve Apartments, 7011 Homestead Loop, around 5:30 p.m. Monday, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department.
Coleman’s girlfriend of 11 months advised that they were arguing when he shoved her to the ground in the laundry room. He then threw her vape in the breezeway outside, breaking it, and punched a hole in the apartment wall. His girlfriend sustained a small laceration on her left temple, the report said.
However, Coleman stated that the hole was caused by his girlfriend shoving his head into the wall. She grabbed his hair, and he pulled away. She must have fallen, but he was not sure. He subsequently left the residence and went to an upstairs neighbor to call family for a ride, the report said.
Coleman was ultimately arrested for battery and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center without bond.
