A Villager contends that a deed compliance violation already existed at her home before she purchased it.
A complaint was received April 22 about the home of Kathleen Stringer on Southeast 83rd Avenue in the Village of Piedmont, according to testimony from Community Standards during the hearing on Monday at the Brownwood District Office. An inspection found that landscaping on the property extended into the road right-of-way.

Staff spoke to Stringer, who indicated the landscaping had been there since the home was built, and she did not intend to remove it. Another inspection on July 16 confirmed the property remained out of compliance.
Stringer was not present at the hearing, but Community Standards recommended that she remove the landscaping within 30 days of the Order of Enforcement. If not, she must pay a $150 fine within 10 days of the invoice and an additional $50 every day until the property is brought into compliance. Should the fines reach $1,500, the case will be turned over to District Counsel.
In Dec. 2019, Stringer faced the Community Development District 4 Board of Supervisors for a wild entanglement of plants, shrubs and bamboo at her home. The board voted against her, finding the property in violation of deed compliance rules.
