A Wildwood sex offender who served time in prison is in trouble again.
James Lee Hall, 45, was arrested last week after it was discovered he was living in a rented room for $50 per month in Lake Panasoffkee, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. His official registered address was in Wildwood.

Hall was convicted in 2011 in Sumter County of lewd and lascivious battery on a victim between 12 and 15 years of age. He served five years in state prison from 2011 to 2016.
Suspecting that Hall had violated his sex offender registration, a deputy followed Hall when he left his place of employment on Oct. 23, driving his girlfriend’s 1991 gray Chevrolet. The deputy followed Hall to the rented room Hall was sharing with his girlfriend. Hall parked the car and the deputy later confirmed that the car had not moved all weekend.
Hall was arrested on a felony charge of violating his sex offender status by not registering a new address. He was taken into custody and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. He was released after posting $5,000 bond.
