Lady Lake police found a 9mm pistol in the glove compartment of a car driven by a convicted felon.
Renico Jerome Guyton, 38, of Deltona, had been at the wheel of a rented Nissan sedan at about 4 p.m. Wednesday when he failed to come to a complete stop at the intersection of U.S. Hwy. 27/441 and Longview Avenue, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department.
A search turned up a 9mm Taurus pistol in the glove compartment. Guyton is a convicted felon. He was arrested last year when he was driving on a suspended license, having already been classified as a habitual offender. Last year, he was arrested in Lake County on a charge of providing a false identity to a law enforcement officer. In 2014, he was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of crack cocaine.
