Women’s purses stolen in car burglary at North Lake Presbyterian Church

A group of women who carpooled together to North Lake Presbyterian Church discovered their purses and other items stolen in a car burglary.

The women had carpooled Friday morning to the church at 975 Rolling Acres Road in a 2012 Lincoln MKX owned by a 66-year-old Village of Hillsborough woman. Also traveling in the car were a 71-year-old Village of Mallory Square woman and a 68-year-old woman from Indianapolis, Ind.

They arrived at about 9 a.m. and emerged about an hour later and found the vehicle had been burglarized.

The Mallory Square woman said her purse containing credit cards, a debit card, cash, her cell phone and reading glasses representing a total loss of $1,500. The Indiana woman said the theft of her purse, credit cards, debit card, cell phone, cash and glasses amounted to a loss of $1,105. The car’s owner put her purse, credit cards, debit card, cash and reading glasses at a total value of $225.

Other items taken from the vehicle included gift cards, makeup, a phone case and a change purse.

The Lady Lake Police Department is investigating the vehicle burglary.
