Woman suffering from medical episode crashes vehicle at gate in The Villages

A woman suffering from a medical episode crashed her vehicle at a gate in The Villages.

The woman at about 2 p.m. Thursday had been driving southbound on Canal Street and then went through the roundabout at Stillwater Trail when she lost control of the vehicle, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

A vehicle on Wednesday afternoon crashed into a gate and wall in the Village of Virginia Trace.

Her vehicle crashed into the gate at the Village of Virginia Trace and continued on and struck a wall. A surveillance camera also was damaged.

The woman was transported by ambulance to The Villages Regional Hospital.

Barricades were set up at the entrance to the Village of Virginia Trace after the crash.

In 2017, the driver of a mini-van lost control in the same roundabout and also crashed into a wall in the Village of Virginia Trace.
