A doctor who previously practiced in The Villages is free on $5,000 bond following his arrest this past week on a charge of video voyeurism.
Dr. Akram Ismail is accused of using the camera in his smart phone to try to take a video up a woman’s skirt at Publix in Groveland.
Ismail, 57, of Groveland, admitted to law enforcement that he has a “problem,” according to the arrest affidavit.
Police officers found several videos on his phone. All of the videos had been taken up women’s skirts.
He is due for arraignment Aug. 10 in Lake County Court.
In 2009, Ismail had been charged with hiring a hit man to kill a business partner.
He previously practiced at Advanced Gastroenterology & Surgery Associates with offices in Lady Lake and The Villages.
