Just when you thought Happy Hour in The Villages had reached its peak, a local restaurant has upped the ante with the introduction of a new drink to stimulate your desire for something a little different.
Red Sauce, across the road from Sumter Landing and the now infamous Market Square pavilion where a couple was recently arrested while sharing an intimate moment, has created a drink in honor of an arrest destined to become a Villages legend.
Sex on the Square, a concoction of light and dark rum, pineapple and orange juice, whipping cream, and to complete the impact, a cherry on top, has made its debut for $3.75.
Tom and Celeste DaCosta of the Village of Tall Trees, and their son Eric, a retired police officer who just had arrived as a new Villager an hour before tasting this creation, were delighted with Sex on the Square.
Smooth, Caribbean tasting, and very good were some of the comments they shared as they passed the drink among themselves.

Eric is a retired police officer from Massachusetts.
While there may be some controversy as to whether it was necessary to arrest the couple, Eric said his police force that he retired from in Fairhaven/Dartmouth would have handled it the same way.
However, Al Zimmerman, from The Village of Mallory Square, enjoying a beer at the outside bar at Red Sauce while his wife was shopping, said this behavior did not surprise him in the least and he felt the individuals should have been taken home with a warning and told not to be found doing that again in public.
While the opinions may vary on the consequences the couple should face, one thing is for sure. Sex on the Square is worth trying, at least once.
