The Elder Law Center of Kirson & Fuller held an open house on Thursday for all members of the community. The new firm offers the community a chance to learn about some of the critical legal issues that all are faced with in their later years.
The firm originally started their services in Orlando, and has been trying for the last couple of years to move into The Villages area. “We had difficulty finding a location. We really wanted to offer our services to the strong community here” said Heather Kirson.
“Because we both specialize in Elder Law, we decided this would be a great location to help people” – and that’s exactly what they intend to do with services including medicaid/asset protection, estate planning, VA benefits, and probate/trust administration among others.
“We are committed to serving the community and providing the highest level of legal services available to elders. That’s why we both secured the board certification.”
The attorneys offer public service events in Orlando and will begin offering the same to Villagers. These events will help inform the community of the many issues they face while making plans for the future. “We plan to speak as a public service to let elders know of the issues we think they should be thinking about and what they need to be watching out for” said Kirson.
The Elder Law Center of Kirson and Fuller will next host an informational session fro 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 18 at the Lady Lake Library . At 10 a.m. Jan. 13., both attorneys (Heather and Patti) will conduct a presentation entitled “How To Pay For Long Term Care: Medicaid & VA Benefits.” It will be approximately an hour long and is open to the public. All are welcome to attend – some of the many estate and trust questions that Villagers have will be answered there.
