Brewers 9 – Rockies 8

The #2 seed Brewers were out hit by the #4 Rockies 19 – 17, but were able to push across just enough runs for the win.  After each team posted 1 run in the first, the Rockies Manager got things going with a single in the 2nd with 1 out.  Sub Rick LaFerriere ripped a double scoring Tulli for the only run for either team in the 2nd inning.  With 1 out in the 3rd, Denis Hodge doubled to put runners on 2nd & 3rd.  After leaving the runners stranded and 2 outs, Ed Prichard doubled in the 2 runs followed by a single by Brian Blake bringing in the 3rd run of the inning.  Bob Kearney added a double to drive in the final run of the 3rd inning.  Trailing 6 – 1, Ray Donovan got things going with a single, followed by Jim Creed and an RBI single by Alan Jackson.  Terry Operchuck drove in the only other run cutting the leak to 3.  The Rockies were held scoreless in the 4th followed by a lead off single by Ralph Calfee.  After an error allowing Vin Stebbins to reach base and an out, Frank Murth knocked in a run with a single and another run by winning pitcher Ken Semmel’s Sac.
