What do people do with their calendars?

The other day, I was having an e-mail conversation with a friend about getting together with our respective spouses.  December was not going to work, so I suggested January.  He said he would be back in a couple of days.  Well, several days later he got back and indicated that he and his spouse had finally remembered to look at the calendar.

Obviously, in my mind they must have had trouble remembering where their calendar was.  Being curious I asked where they kept their calendar.  He became immediately defensive and wanted to know why I wanted to know.  A “search for knowledge” was apparently not enough, and he never did tell me.

That got me to thinking.  What do people do with their calendars?

Are there some who keep it in a deep dark secret place – perhaps for nefarious reasons?  Having a great desire to know all about trivial matters, I decided to investigate.  After all, I might find enough information to have one of the “Think tanks” follow up for a real investigation.  Heck, they might even use my research as a footnote, which would be neat.

I started my research at a meeting of Husbands United (a secret society).  I figured that since this was a meeting where secrets were kept, I might receive some good answers.  The first gentlemen indicated that he was not certain as his wife constantly moved them.  He assumed that it was to see if she could find a place where he would mark down events.  It didn’t seem to work, except for February which is her birthday month.  Then she put it right over his sock drawer so he would not forget that event.

Naturally he still did, which is why he was at the meeting.  However, he did say that when the calendar was over his sock drawer, he knew it was February which was good since so much went on in The Villages he never knew what part of the year it was.  He also acknowledged that he should look at it to see the exact day of her birthday!  Perhaps, this coming

February might work.

A second fellow indicated that he did not believe in wall calendars.  They always had babies or puppies on them and spoiled the décor.  So he put events on his computer’s calendars, even though the distaff member of the household said he would regret it someday.  As usual she turned out to be correct.  The computer went through the green screen of death.  He had no backup and they missed a number of events.  It did not bother him as he said he didn’t like most of the people at the events anyhow.  The other member of the household did – which is why he was at Husbands United (a secret

society).

I have just started this research and if any of you want to send me the calendar locations of yours or some suspicious people you know, feel free to contact me.  At our house, the Blonde in the house keeps ours is very conspicuous place so I will remember important dates.  That is good, if I emember to look at it – which is why I was at the Husbands United meeting.

Now do not be afraid to let me or others know where yours is located.  If you do, it will be a great stress reliever.  I will not print your names in my completed study.  Honest injun! (Politically incorrect term!)
