A 66-year-old Leesburg man was killed in a single-vehicle accident at 12:50 p.m. Saturday on County Road 44 at Rhett Drive.
Daniel Lee Perry was driving a 2008 Honda Odyssey eastbound on County Road 44, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
For unknown reasons, he began to travel in a southeasterly direction and onto the south shoulder of the roadway where his vehicle collided with a wooden sign and some landscaping. The vehicle continued on and collided with a utility pole, according to the FHP report.
Perry was pronounced deceased on scene by firefighters/paramedics.
