If becoming a better artist is on your 2014 to-do list, you’ll have plenty of opportunity through a series of winter/spring workshops being offered by Villager Beverly Hennessy.
These classes are offered in conjunction with The Villages Lifelong Learning College.
Karlyn Holman will be teaching watercolor on Jan. 13 through 17. Through her classes you can learn landscape painting and recreate your summer cottage, old barn or international scene.
You can learn more about colored pencil drawing and other medium through classes taught by Linda Lucas Hardy. The first class will be “Adventures in Colored Pencil” Jan. 19-23. Over three days you can embark on “Taking the Ordinary to Extraordinary” on Jan. 19-21.
One of the best in the country, Tony Couch is teaching watercolor during the event, but his classes are sold out.
Also teaching watercolor will be Sterling Edwards, whose classes on watercoloring will be on Feb. 3 to 7, “Abstracting and Stylizing your Watercolors” on Feb. 3 and 4, and “Painting Expressive and Dynamic Landscapes and Floral Watercolors” on Feb. 5 through 7.
“Every day is a different technique,” Hennessy added.
You can also take part in Charles Harrington’s Acrylic Landscapes classes. A five-day session will be held Feb. 10-14, a two-day session will be held Feb. 10-11 and a three-day session will be held Feb. 12-14.
