
John Alden Davis, 88, of The Villages, Florida passed away December 21, 2013 at Lane Purcell Hospice House in Sumterville, Florida. He is a native of Montpelier, Vermont. He served during World War II in the United States Army. After the war became a tax accountant, and an auditor. He came to the Villages 24 years ago and enjoyed swimming, dancing, was an avid golfer. Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Judith Ann Davis The Villages, FL; daughter Sarah Durhon of Newport News, VA, brother Dean Davis of Gates, NY, Sister Linda Cooper , granddaughter Amina Abdul of Memphis, TN, grandson Jay Abdul and many nieces and nephews. There will be a gathering of family and friends from noon until 4:00 p.m. on January 6, 2014 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, The Villages 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd. There will be speakers beginning at 3pm, and a gathering in the reception area following the speakers.
