
THE VILLAGES – Richard Edward Golle, 76, passed away, Sunday, January 12, 2014. Born in Jersey City, NJ, he was the son of the late Robert and Margaret (Muller) Golle. Richard served his country with distinction in the U.S. Air Force from 1956 -60. He enjoyed a long and distinguished career as an air traffic controller in the New York Tri-Center and retired after 32 years of service with the United States government. He and his wife Vivian moved to The Villages in 2005. Survivors include his wife, Vivian, son, Richard of Greenlawn, LINY, son, David of Scottsdale, AZ, daughter, Debbie of Scottsdale, AZ, son, Thomas of Norwalk, CT, son Michael of Brooklyn, NY, 9 grandchildren, 2 sisters, Dot of Clifton, NJ and Freida of Forken River, NJ. Vivian and her family wish to thank the staff of Cornerstone Hospice for their love, care and devotion shown to Richard during his illness. The family will receive relatives and friends at a visitation to be held at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd., The Villages on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Timothy Catholic Community on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at 8:30 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Villages for Hospice 601 Casa Bella, The Villages, FL 32162-9985.
