It’s never too early to start preparing for prom.

The Villages High School prom isn’t until March 22, but students were getting styled up Friday morning in advance of a prom fashion show in the afternoon at the high school.

Eighteen stylists at Root 466 Salon in the Southern Trace shopping plaza were busy doing hair, makeup and nails for the students in advance of the show. All of the services were donated.

“I love the way it looks,” VHS senior Madison VanVoorhees told Lindsey Glen, managing partner at Root 466, as she examined her hair in the mirror.

This year’s prom will be a 1920s/masquerade-theme, VanVoorhees said.

It’s important to give your prom look a good tryout in advance of the big event, she added.

“I am definitely coming back here to have my hair done for prom,” VanVoorhees said.

The guys were also being styled in advance of the prom fashion show.

Root 466 stylist Mark Brodeur was busy working his magic on VHS senior Alex Hall.

“The guys have to look good, too,” Brodeur said.

The VHS prom will be held at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort.
