The Villages Regional Hospital Auxiliary Foundation is hosting their “Hearts for Our Hospital Gala” this Saturday at the Savannah Center. This is the eighth Signature Event being presented by The Villages Regional Hospital Auxiliary Foundation to benefit the expansion of the hospital. The theme for this years gala is “Up, Up and Away!”
The foundation’s past efforts have provided specialized endoscopy equipment, helped purchase a state-of-the-art Magnetic Resonance Imaging (“MRI”) unit, equipped a new Chest Pain Center, and have added new Harmony® LED Surgical Lighting Systems and Pulsed Xenex UV Lamp Disinfection Systems to fight against Hospital Acquired Infections (HAIs).
The event is open to the public with limited seating for just over 300 attendees. Doors open at 5:30 P.M., and there will be an open bar, entertainment and a silent auction. Dinner will begin at 7:00 P.M. and will be catered by Orlando’s premier caterer, Puff ‘n Stuff. A live auction will follow dinner, and entertainment will be provided by Paul Vesco. The dress for the event is black tie and evening gown. Tickets are $150 per person and can be obtained by contacting The Villages Regional Hospital Auxiliary Foundation at (352) 751-8871 or via email at [email protected].
The foundation’s goal this year is to raise $200,000 from this event to go towards the planned expansion. The new wing will add 62 new beds, new Emergency Department rooms, and 5 large operating suites for complex procedures. The additions are seen as necessary for the hospital to serve the ever growing tri-county area with adequate medical services. The $59 million hospital expansion is expected to be complete in January 2015. Ground was broken November 22, 2013 on the expansion.
