Fross&Fross scored 6 runs in the 7th inning and held off 3Amigos in the bottom of the inning to end the long win streak. Manager Terry Dolasinski, Jim Rogers, Joe DeGeorge and Tim Wilcox(3 RBI’s) all had 3 hits to lead the winners. Ed DiMaio also chipped in with 2 hits and 3 RBI’s. 3Amigos was led by Rod Severson’s 4 hit/3RBI day. Bud Ramsey and Jim Wheeler(3 RBI’s) had 3 hits each in the loss while Dave Hinkley drove in 3 runs.
IHOP 18 PERKINS 4
IHOP is the last remaining undefeated team and has taken sole possession of first place while keeping Perkins searching for their first victory. Dennis Hodge led the victors with 4 hits while Tom Ceglie had 4 RBI’s. Terry Yanny(3 RBI’s), Walt Banko, Rich Pitts and Jerry Jensen contributed with 3 hits each. Perkins was led by John Reedy, Jim Morton and Earl Bellisario who each had 2 hits.
ARDEN 16 CEBERT 11
Arden outscored Cebert 6 to 1 in the last 2 innings to knock Cebert out of the undefeated ranks. Arden was led by Sam Patrick and Tom Montgomery who each had 4 hits and 3 RBI’s. They also got 3 hits each from Ed Kordus, Ron Roberge(3 RBI’s) and Bob Strolin. Bob Buchanan had 4 hits for Cebert while manager Henry Ship, Ralph Furbush and Bob Cramer(3 RBI’s) each 3 hits in the loss.
HUMANA 15 METLIFE 10
Metlife was also ousted from the undefeated ranks by Humana who scored 5 in the 5th inning to pull away for the victory. The victory was fueled by 3 hits each from Bob Roth, Bob Jacques and John Hoover. Dave Oatley had 3 RBI’s. Rich Hopkins led Metlife with a homerun and 3 RBI’s while pitcher Harold Holliman chipped in with 2 hits and 3 RBI’s.
SAGE POINT 7 HARLAN 5
Harlan is still seeking their first win after losing another close game. Sage Point survived a 4 run first inning by Harlan and fought back to win. They were led by Tom Bortle’s 3 run homer and a 3 hit/2 RBI day by Tom Guinan. Gene Llafet had 3 hits and 2 RBI’s for Harlan while Terry Brooks contributed with 2 hits.
SRG 24 MULBERRY 14
SRG scored 5 runs in 4 separate innings to rout Mulberry. Duane Broschat had a big for SRG hammering 2 homeruns and driving in runs. Doug Nantais also had a homerun, 3 hits and 4 RBI’s. Pitcher Greg Gilbert, Scott Marshall, Bob Nizlek and Ed Krisha(4 RBI’s) all had 3 hits in the win. Mulberry was led by Marty Berger, George Loew, Chuck Bowman and Jim Allison all had 3 hits to lead Mulberry.
