Nicholas DiBenedetto, 92, of the Villages, passed peacefully Tuesday, February 11, 2014, in Leesburg Memorial Hospital, following complications of open heart surgery. Born January 1, 1922, in New York City, he was a son of the late Vito and Mary Marini DiBenedetto. A World War II veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, he was a retired plumber of Local #27 in Pittsburgh. He was married to the late Alvina Pape DiBenedetto. Nick enjoyed golf and bowling. He loved to sing and made many friends at Karaoke. Nick was a member of St Timothy Catholic Church, Lady Lake. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Peter and sister Vivian Marini, a son in law, Ray Buczynski and a great-grandson. Survived by a daughter, Donna Buczynski, PA a son, William (Patricia) DiBenedetto, SC 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, nieces, nephews and cousins. His friend Michael Volk, the Villages and Nick’s girlfriend, Susan Albanese, Ocala. As per Nick’s wishes, there will be no services and no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
