Richard “Rick” McEvoy, 68, The Villages, FL passed away Wednesday, 2/26/2014 at Cornerstone Hospice after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Rick was born 7/25/1945 in Baltimore, MD. Rick was very active in the neighborhood of Bridgeport Miona Shores and loved by all. He was on the neighborhood softball team, played in the golf league and poker group. He loved the outdoors and could always be found doing odd jobs around his yard. Rick was a Viet Nam Veteran serving in the Army. He is survived by wife Anna McEvoy and children: Mike Durant, Eric Durant, Anna Durant Hoge and five grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell on Wed. March 5th at 1:30 pm with full honors provided by VFW Post #8083.
