LADY LAKE – Thomas James Bock, 85, passed from this life Sunday, March 9, 2014. Born in Chicago, IL he was the son of the late Herbert and Agnes (Keiper) Bock. Thomas was a carpenter and cement finisher. He moved to Miami, FL from Chicago, IL in 1960 and worked for the city as a building inspector. He moved to Lady Lake in 1988 and worked for the town as a building inspector as well. He was of the Catholic faith and member of St. Timothy Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, antique cars and building model cars. As a youngster of 16 he was given permission to join the Merchant Marine during World War II. Thomas was most proud of his marriage of 65 years to his wife Marie and family. He leaves his wife Marie (Broeski) Bock, daughters, Susan Brewer (Steve) of Houston, TX, and Lisa Hicks (Thomas) of Safety Harbor, FL. The family will receive relatives and friends at a visitation to be held on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd., The Villages from 4 to 6 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Timothy Catholic Church on Friday, March 14, 2014 at 8:30 a.m. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
