American Funds representative Tom O’Neil offered information and answered questions from Edward Jones Financial Advisor Jeff Gower and his clientele during a dinner on Wednesday night at Harbor Chase. During the dinner, O’Neil discussed the state of the economy and assured Gower’s clients of American Funds’ success over time.
“I want you to pick out a year that’s important to you,” said O’Neil to the audience. He asked those in attendance to look ahead ten years on a graph demonstrating an American Funds investment’s maturity for the last 80 years. “Find that number, and go out ten years…you’ve always made money,” he stated. The company, which is part of the Capital Group, has successfully represented its clients financial interests since 1931. He indicated that an investment made two decades ago with American Funds would have doubled, twice.
The informational session provided clients of Gower the opportunity to question and comment on the company’s future. Gower, a Rotarian and board member of Project Legacy, sees the dinner as an opportunity to thank his clients while also helping them better understand their investments.
Clients of the company were fond of the dinner, which was catered by Gourmet Today, and the informative answers of Mr. O’Neil.
