Village of Alhambra resident Bryan T. Lifsey has been chosen to fill Seat 1 on Community Development District 2.
He was chosen this morning from among three applicants for the seat. He fills the seat vacated by Robert Houston who moved out of the district.
Lifsey is well known in The Villages.
He is an office manager with Seniors v. Crime. He has been an active volunteer with Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), The Villages Regional Hospital Emergency Room and has ferried local veterans in the DAV van to Gainesville for medical treatment. He had previously applied for the seat but was not selected.
“I am happy to be here. You have all set a pretty high bar,” Lifsey said.
He said he applied to “give back to the community in a meaningful way.”
Other applicants for the position were former Virginia Beach, Va. Sheriff Paul Lanteigne and former Punta Gorda City Council member John E. Land.
District 2 supervisors said they were impressed with the field of applicants for the seat.
