A Villager was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence Monday evening at County Road 466 and Morse Bouelvard.

John C. Longley, 75, of Rawcliffe Court, ran a red light, according to the Sumter County sheriff’s deputy’s arrest report. Prior to that he made an improper lane change in the roundabout at Morse Boulevard and Mariposa Way, the report indicated.

After the deputy pulled Longley over, he had trouble performing field sobriety tests.

In addition to DUI, he was charged with failing to obey a traffic signal and failure to maintain a single lane.

He was transported to the Sumter County Detention Center where bond was set at $500.
