As Villagers go about their daily chores, visiting doctors’ offices, stopping at the adjacent Citizens First Bank or shopping, they are treated to the multi-ring circus of a well orchestrated construction project. As one steps back to view the panorama of development as the expansion of The Villages Regional Hospital progresses, one can see, all at once,  the welding of third story girders growing the skeleton of a new building; the pouring of cement, masons building stone block walls, and cranes lifting bundles of metal girders and huge ventilation units into place.

Workers in hard hats climb ladders and walk quickly into place, as so many tasks are completed simultaneously.

Major progress was made this week as two large air conditioning units and several more huge double ventilation units were secured and lifted onto upper stories of a utility tower. “These guys know what they are doing,” said Villager John Delitto, who had a medical appointment nearby. “They are very skilled workers. I like to stop and watch them, and the hospital needs to expand.”
