The golf cart lanes of the Lake Sumter Bridge were flooded Saturday afternoon thanks to heavy rains.
The bridge, which serves as a major artery for golf cart traffic in The Villages, was passable with golf cart operators moving through slowly. Some opted to turn back.
The parking lot at Sunset Point, the spot where Villagers gather to sip wine and watch the setting sun, was also partially flooded.
The area had been under a tornado watch until 5 p.m. Saturday, but that expired without incident.
The weather picture looks to improve Sunday with sunnier skies in the forecast.
