Community Watch has reduced its presence on Colony Boulevard now that traffic has slowed down and so many snowbirds have headed north.
Two Community Watch personnel are directing traffic at the point where golf cart traffic meets vehicular traffic on Colony Boulevard near the Colony Cottage Recreation Center parking lot. Community Watch personnel are on site from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. District officials have also expressed concern about having Community Watch personnel at the location as the summer heat approaches.
Community Watch director Scott Wilder told the Project Wide Advisory Committee on May 5 that Community Watch would be reducing its presence at the site. PWAC members approved of the cutback.
Community Watch began directing traffic at the site in October.
A traffic signal will be installed on Colony Boulevard. The installation is expected to take place in June.
