Harvy Lee Jacks, 44, of Tavares was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence by a Sumter County sheriff’s deputy after he was pulled over late Tuesday night in Lake Panasoffkee.
The deputy noticed a suspicious light near Maddox Farms property. He found a truck there in front of a closed gate leading into a pasture.
The deputy found a beer can outside the driver’s door of Jacks’ truck.
There were four beers behind the drivers center console and a beer in the passenger door of the vehicle. The truck bed also contained two empty beer cans, according to the deputy’s report.
Jacks failed field sobriety exercises, according to the arrest report.
He was transported to the Sumter County Detention Center.
