
A 29-year-old Oxford man was arrested early Friday morning after he allegedly broke into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment and got into a fight with her new boyfriend.
James Allen Strickland was arrested by Sumter County sheriff’s deputies on felony charges of burglary and larceny and a misdemeanor charge of battery.
Strickland reportedly showed up at the ex-girlfriend’s apartment in Webster and was told to leave.
He left but moments later re-entered the apartment through a window, according to the arrest report. Once in the apartment, he struck the new boyfriend, took his cell phone and about $300 in cash and left the scene.
Strickland was arrested and taken to the Sumter County Detention Center where bond was set at $27,500.
