A Villager who attempted to make a risky pass died at the scene of a head-on collision.
The 65-year-old Villager was driving a Subaru SUV at 12:25 p.m. Saturday southbound on State Road 39 in Hillsborough County when he attempted to pass an uninvolved vehicle and entered the path of a Chrysler minivan traveling in the opposite direction, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
