Carol Patterson and Shakerah Marshall, friends and registered nurses working in The Villages, have dreamed about opening their own home health agency. This dream becomes a reality with the grand opening of their agency, Visiting Nurse Services of Central Florida LLC, which will take place with a ribbon cutting ceremony at their Wildwood office at 328 South Main Street, Wildwood, FL 34785, on Wednesday, June 25 at 10:00am.
In addition to their ribbon-cutting ceremony, kicked off by the Sumter County Chamber of Commerce, attendees and visitors may partake in a Health Fair featuring information about the Agency’s menu of home health services, medication Q & A, care alternatives for various disease states and rehab needs. This event allows participants to learn about any health issues that can be answered by registered nurses.
Attendees will also be offered free blood pressure screenings immediately following the ceremony.
Visiting Nurse Services of Central Florida is owned and operated by registered nurses with over 20 years’ experience. The company is licensed by the state of Florida, and is accredited by Community Health Accreditation, (CHAP), a highly respected accrediting agency, responsible for ensuring that the highest level of standards is met. Visiting Nurse Services of Central Florida serves multiple counties, including Lake, Sumter, Marion, Citrus, Hernando, and more. The company offers services such as: skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, home health aides, private duty nurses and social workers.
Home health is an important adjunct to hospital or rehab care. Hospital stays continue to be shortened, creating a need for care alternatives. Nursing homes are often beyond the budgets of many seniors and many patients prefer to be treated in their homes. These patients now have a local resource, Visiting Nurse Services of Central Florida.
