Lambrecht’s absence prolongs AAC deadlock on golf cart path striping

The fate of golf cart path striping in Community Development District 4 will likely remain in limbo as the Amenity Authority Committee continues to be deadlocked on the issue.

The AAC is scheduled to meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Savannah Center.

But chances are slim that AAC member Rich Lambrecht will be present, as he was sidelined by a stroke earlier this year.

At last month’s meeting, AAC member Carl Bell raised the possibility of moving forward on golf cart path striping in CDD 4. The AAC had previously agreed to fund golf cart path striping in CDDs 1, 2, 3 and 4. But CDD 4 was the only district to take the AAC up on the offer. An interlocal agreement needs to be approved before the work can proceed.

In June, AAC members Jo Weber and Ann Forrester indicated they will not be changing their votes against golf cart path striping. AAC members Bell and John Wilcox have indicated they would vote in favor of the interlocal agreement which would allow golf cart path striping to begin in CDD 4.

Lambrecht, who was the original champion of golf cart path striping, would cast the winning vote if he was able to be present. But it is not known how long Lambrecht will be absent.

The makeup of the AAC is certain to change in the months ahead.

Weber, who recently took the reins as Rotary District governor, is not running for re-election to the AAC.

Frank Kirschenheiter, Richard Jones and Lowell Barker will be in a three-way contest to succeed Weber.

Bell of District 1 and Forrester of District 2 are both seeking another term.

Tom Fetherling is running against Bell and Marty Rothbard is running against Forrester.
