A crew has begun work on the installation of a signal light on Colony Boulevard.
The crew from Florida Safety Contractors, Inc. is installing a light at the point at which golf-cart traffic meets vehicular traffic on Colony Boulevard near Colony Cottage Recreation Center.
The installation of a light has been the subject of a great deal of discussion over the past several months.
At one point, the Project Wide Advisory Committee had voted to install a bridge over the busy boulevard, but that plan was later shelved due to cost.
Since this past October, Community Watch has been at the intersection during peak hours, directing traffic.
